Ed "Pi Double i" HendersonWorldWide Rams The Rams have released C/G J.J. Dielman, the claimed hours after the 53-man rosters were set across the NFL. Dielman who was a fifth-round selection for the Cincinnati Bengals didn't survive the Bengals final cuts, largely because he was outperformed.
The Rams claimed Dielman on September 3, 2017 (a younger cousin of Kris Dielman pro-bowl guard for the San Diego Chargers), because of his versatility and ability to play all over the offensive line. The release comes just days after the Rams were granted a roster exemption for All-Pro Defensive Lineman Aaron Donald, who ended his holdout on last Saturday, to rejoin the team. The Rams needed a roster spot but, it was a tough decision, as Dielman became the last man out. The Rams reported they have the desire to have Dielman to return back to the team, and is optimistic that he will clear waivers and be signed to the practice squad. Dielman could be a hot commodity to other teams in the league, largely because of the immediate need of offensive linemen.
