The Los Angeles Rams have resigned kicker Sam Ficken to replace Greg Zuerlein while he recovers from an injured groin. The Rams signed Ficken last season when Zuerlein placed on the IR with a season-ending herniated disc surgery.
In Ficken NFL debut last season against the against the Tennessee Titans, he after attempt. In that same game, he attempted a 35 -yard field goal that he bounced off the crossbar, perhaps creating a meltdown of confidence inside.
However, Ficken finished the season 2-3 on made field goals and 4-5 on made point after attempts. In the NFC Wild Card game, Ficken was money as he was 2-2 on made field goals and connected on his only point after attempt.
The team will rally around the kid as he too has a robust and powerful leg, and may be relied on at a crucial point. However, the way the Rams offense have been exploding, he'll prefer to kick the PAT's from many touchdowns scored.
