His first season with the Aggies as a true freshman, he played a vital role as a reserve, playing 13 games, good for 32 tackles (9.5 for loss) and one fumble. By year two, expectations were high but stats dropped; in 13 games, Mack racked up just 25 tackles with just 2.5 for a loss but added 1.5 sacks. Season three with Texas A&M was the first start for Mack, although he dropped even more in performance, having just 19 tackles (5 for loss), one fumble and one sack. His senior season was a make or break for Mack's future in the NFL. With new Head Coach Jimbo Fisher in line, Daylon started all 13 games where he thrived putting out his best season of his career.
