worldwide ramsEd "Pi Double i" Henderson The Los Angeles Rams front office have reached out all-time Rams rushing leader in efforts signing him to a contract. The contract was a one-day deal to arrange for him to side the contract to officially retire as a member of the Rams organization.
The Rams selected Jackson in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft to his predecessor starting running back Marshall Faulk. Jackson played nine seasons with the Rams from 2004-2012, and broke Eric Dickerson's rushing record of 7,245 yards, ending his career with the Rams with 10,138 career rushing yards. In Jackson final season, the Rams selected two running backs in the 2012 NFL Draft. They selected Isiah Pead in the second round and Daryl Washington in the seventh round, pretty much displayed it was going to become a running back by committee. Despite the committee concept, Jackson still managed to rush for 1,042 yards that season. Jackson was able to see the painting on the wall and decided to opt out the final year of his contract and pursued a new team as a contender or starter. He landed two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and his final season with the New England Patriots. Jackson retiring as a Ram also make him a Ram for life and always be remembered by his dedication and plowing style of running.
