GAME HIGHLIGHTS
#2 DARYUS SKINNER

Strengths: He is a legitimate cerebral free safety that posses a high football IQ. He has excellent awareness of a strong vision of the field.  He can solidify the back end of the defense as a solid zone defender who can read the quarterback eyes and uses his crafty skills to make a play on the ball. He is a ball hawk who can break to the ball and can make interceptions with a total of 22 in his collegiate career. He has soft, reliable hands. He is very light on his feet that allows him the ability to play inside against the slot receivers. He comes downhill fast against the run and will stick his head in to make tackles. To have a thin wire body, he does pack power and will unload on a player no matter their size.

Weaknesses: His level of competition playing at a D-II affects him some, but no NFL team cannot ignore 22 career interceptions as a four-year starter. He is a bit undersized safety for the NFL but has added 17 pounds since the season end to his frame. He is not very fluid in the hips and shows slight stiffness which does not allow him turn quickly with the receiver. He needs to wrap up when his tackles, generally go for the kill shot or undercutting the ball carrier. A plus that he added weight because his body will not hold up for 16-game schedule with those punishing shots at 175 pounds. Need to take better routes and angles to the ball tends to circle to the runner allowing cutback opportunities. Teams should give a close look at him if they are looking for an excellent competitive defensive backfield defender or special teams player.

Draft Grade: 5.75

Draft Projection: UDFA

NFL Comparison: Micah Hyde
