#26 EVAN HULL
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
NORTHWESTERN WILDCATS

STRENGTHS

  • He is a compact runner, with a twitch, with a bulky and thick lower frame.
  • He will hit the line of scrimmage between the tackles in a jittery fashion and put his foot in the ground with explosive cutback runs.
  • He has excellent vision, can the defender miss, is very sappy in tight areas, stays consolidated, and read his blocks well.
  • He is built for a smashmouth offense but has excelled in zone schemes or power-type run offenses.
  • He is a powerful runner who designs his way of getting his pad level low and falling forward after the initial contact.
  • When running the ball, he secures the ball with both arms through the hole, with tremendous leverage.
  • He has a combination of strength and high motor with the stubbornness of not going down.
  • He is a receiving threat out of the backfield; he has delicate hands to catch the ball from screens, out the slot, and lined up outside as a wide receiver.
  • He is incredible catching the ball in space with slip screens and hot seam routes, as he manages to mismatch the defender.
  • He is a work horse, won over many scouts and coaches at the NFL Combine with running drill into the end zone.

WEAKNESS

  • He lacks the homerun speed, explosiveness, or power to secure a lead-back role at the next level.
  • He does show some signs of stiffness and is not that very fluid.
  • At the point of contact, he fights for more yardage and gets way above the pad level.
  • Too many first-contact tackles around the waist at the line of scrimmage have gotten Hull down before his full steam ahead of power.
  • He does a lot of shuffling and dancing, could be more dynamic, and will set him up for turnovers at the next level.
  • He struggled as a pass protector; he must devise a plan to play on passing downs and be trusted.
Draft Projection: 3rd - 5th Round

NFL Comparison: David Montgomery (Detroit Lions)
