Player Bio: Darnell Wright attended Huntington High School located in Huntington, WV. As a junior, he helped lead Huntington to a 12-1 record and the semifinal round of the Class AA state playoffs in 2017. He garnered the 2019 First-Team American Family Insurance All-USA, 2018 MaxPreps Preseason All-America second-team selection, 2018 First-Team USA Today All-USA West Virginia Team, Three-time Class AAA All-State, West Virginia Sports Writers Association, WVSWA Class AAA All-State first-team selection in 2017 and 2018, and WVSWA Class AAA All-State second-team selection in 2016. He participated in 2019 Under Armour All-America Game.​

• He has an enormous body frame ideal for an NFL offensive lineman.
• He is athletic for a lineman of his size and moves well along the line.
• He has the upper echelon of power and strength of an offensive tackle in for the run game.
• He uses his power to generate positive activity at the point-of-contact in the run game.
• His strength is impeccable as he drives the defender back to establish run lanes for the ball carrier.
• Against the pass, he can set an anchor against the bull-rushers and maintain his pass-protection set.

• He has struggled in areas where he can get upright and loses his power, and become clumsy, losing his balance.
• He has ankle tightness that will cause a delay in his get-offs and kick-slide.
• He needs to play better in space, as he can duck his head, whiff on blocks, and overshoot his target.
