strengths

  • He is a prototypical linebacker with great length and one of the nation’s top all-around athletes.
  • He is a tough, hostile, and physical linebacker that makes an NFL DC lick his chops.
  • He is downright ugly, as he terrorized the offensive backfield.
  • He is a versatile linebacker who played on the EDGE, converted to inside linebacker, and lines up at linebacking positions.
  • He is an athletic linebacker with excellent speed and the ability to track down the running back or quarterback.
  • He has an insane first step and is explosive getting home to the ball.
  • Equipped with solid pass-rush skills, and an arsenal of moves, he imposes mismatches regularly.
  • He is a cerebral player with a high football IQ, great vision, and the ability to read the quarterback.
  • Include his awareness with patience; he attacks at the height of the play.
  • However, he is a solid tackler who always wraps up; he will lay the wood when the opportunity knocks.
  • He can drop back into coverage but is better around the line of scrimmage.

weakness

  • He has a high ceiling but has played only one season at the linebacker position.
  • He needs to add more muscle to his mass to deflect the pounding of the offensive lineman.
  • He does not possess a strong punch at initial contact and needs to work on his hand placement.
  • He has struggled to shed block due to a lack of upper body strength.
  • He will be an early liability in pass coverage and must be defined as he struggles to recognize the routes.
Draft Projection: 1st Round (late) - 2nd Round

NFL Comparison: Tremaine Edmunds (Chicago Bears)
