strengths

  • He has the prototypical size for an NFL running back with the frame to ensure a heavy workload.
  • He runs the ball patiently, waiting for the play to develop by following his blockers to let the play develop.
  • His frame is enduring, and he can withstand the punishment that running backs encounter every down.
  • He is a strong, physical runner who can move the pile when necessary.
  • He is an angry runner with impressive contact balance and is mostly falling forward for positive yardage.
  • He refuses to go down from initial contact and will run right through arm tackles.
  • He can make a defender miss with impressive slick moves and can tear off nice size runs of 20 or more yards at a time.
  • He has confident hands as a heck-down receiver and is dangerous in the open field.
  • He will stick in the nose in front of defenders, becoming a critical pass rusher.

weakness

  • He does not possess top-end speed and rarely ripped big runs for touchdowns.
  • He has no short-area quickness and relies on his moves to get through high-pressure situations.
  • His acceleration is terrible; it takes a moment for him to get going like a school bus up a hill.
  • He will not move the pile when needed in goal-line situations and must get more substantial.
  • He will need to work on receiving skills after lining up wide; speedy linebackers will keep him in check as a dump-down receiver.
  • He will need to become a better pass protector, and he rarely had the opportunity.
  • Suffered an knee injury late in BCS playoffs and did not perform at the NFL Combine or TCU Pro Day
Draft Projection: 3rd - 4th Round

NFL Comparison: Jamal Williams (New Orleans Saints)
