Player Bio: Jackson started four seasons as a quarterback at Mona Shores High School; he finished fifth in Michigan history, both in passing yards and touchdowns; he earned first team all-state in his senior season, before leaving to the Buffalo Bulls.
With the Bulls, Tyree redshirted his first season, but by his second, started nine out of 10 games, throwing for, 1,772 yards with a one-one TD-INT ratio (nine) and a 53% of completions, on the ground, where he is also a threat, Jackson ran for 399 yards and four touchdowns in 99 attempts, showing his dual-threat ability. In his sophomore season, he started eight games (missed four due to a knee injury) and improved a lot from his first year as a starter, throwing for 2,096 yards and 12 touchdowns by only three interceptions) 60% completion rate), and adding 197 yards on the ground with four touchdowns in 47 attempts. With a good return for his junior season in 2018, Jackson started all 14 games, and threw for 3,131 yards, 28 scores and just 12 interceptions (55% completion rate) and ran for 161 yards and seven touchdowns in 55 carries, earning the MAC Offensive Player of the Year award. Jackson planned to transfer as a graduate for the 2019 season, however, after thinking it well thru the offseason, he decided to enter the 2019 NFL Draft, instead of playing another year of college football.

Game Film
#5 Tyree Jackson vs. Temple (2018)

Strengths:
-Big hands and tall frame that might lure some teams.
-Good, big arm. Can sling it deep.
-Showed velocity and anticipation in his throws.
-Double threat QB that can make damage on the ground.
-Good progression reading.
-Great mobility to stretch plays.
-Can throw off-balance when needed.

Weaknesses:
-Low accuracy.
-Footwork non-existent.
-Lack of touch on deep balls.
-When pressured, he prefers to throw a 50-50 throw, rather than take the sack.
-When coverage is tight, he struggles to make his reads

Draft Grade: 5.29

Draft Projection:  4th --5th (should go 5-7)

Does He Fit?: YES: Jared Goff under control for the next two years, (hopefully longer) the Rams are in no need to add a starting quarterback. McVay can draft a guy who has a big arm and some desirable traits for developmental QB's; he has all the physical tools that coach love, but he needs to work in his accuracy and pocket footwork if he wants to ever start a game in the NFL. His size and running ability will get him some suitors sooner rather than later. With the right coaching staff (McVay) he could be ready to take the league by surprise in a couple of years.
