GAME FILM
#68 CADE MAYS VS MISSOURI (2021)

Strengths
  • He has excellent size, length, and versatility for any offensive line at the next level.
  • He is downright ugly and nasty as an interior lineman against the run.
  • He has a powerful lower body that allows him to maul against the defender and drive them off the line.
  • He can reach outside, seal the edge with solid hands, and turn the defender on power runs.
  • He has short-area straight-line quickness to get out to the second level of the defenses.
  • He demonstrates excellent balance and patience as a pass protector and keeps a strong punch against the pass rusher.
  • He explodes quickly out of his stance to beat the rusher to his mark.
Weaknesses
  • Despite being a mauler in run blocking, he does not generate good leverage that permits the defender to deflect him off quickly.
  • He struggles to get to the second level on wide-zone run plays, not locating the target due to his stiffness.
  • He shows poor knee bend and stiffness that allows him to get up pad-level and on his toes.
  • He needs to get his punch out quickly to keep the rusher's hands out of his chest, which tends him to get pushed back into passing lanes.
  • He will struggle against stunts and lacks blitz recognition from the second level.

GAME FILM
#5 velus jones jr VS SOUTH CAROLINA (2021)

#1 Velus jones highlights (2021)

Strengths
  • He is a dynamic and swiss army knife-style receiver equipped with blazing speed, power, and a physical frame.
  • He is an explosive receiver with excellent elite speed, shiftiness, and power.
  • He will beat press coverages off the line of scrimmage
  • A good route technician who uses his speed cuts, not losing balance.
  • He is dangerous in the open field with the ball and will navigate through traffic.
  • He uses his solid frame to run through arm tackles and has a great knack to lower his body to push forward for extra yardage.
  • He offers a lot as a run blocker and in the screen game.
  • He has excellent soft hands that generally catch every ball thrown to him.
  • He tracks the ball well in the air and has the flexibility to make some of the most challenging catches.
  • Double down as a dangerous kick and punt returner that will keep the crowd on the edge of their seat.

Weaknesses:
  • He is one of the oldest receivers in the draft after spending six years at the college level turning 25 years of age.
  • He only played as a slot receiver and will offer a little as an outside receiver.
  • He does not poise as a cerebral player as he will get confused against coverages.
  • He generally uses the same combo step or stutters off the line of scrimmage to develop separation.
  • He runs a limited route tree and will need to revamp his arsenal of routes.
  • NFL defenses can take him out of the game by press coverage and single side safety up top or cover two to eliminate his deep threat speed.

  • He will lean instead of the knee bend at the waist with his high center of gravity.

#4 Thomas booker vs stanford (2021)

Strengths
  • He is versatile, athletic, quick, with good agility, and has a nice solid frame for the defensive line.
  • His versatility allows him to play the defensive line positions as a 1-tech, 3-tech, and some 5-tech alignments; he also could plugin as a defensive tackle in a 4-3 alignment.
  • His short-area burst of speed the displayed nicely at the 2022 NFL Combine with a 4.94 40-yard dash and 4.41 shuttle run.
  • His quickness allows him to have a substantial get-off at the snap of the ball.
  • He shows fair agility when needed to move laterally across the field.
  • He has good strength from his upper body that connects long arms to withstand blockers from getting into his chest.
  • He has very big hands, with a strong grip that enables him to manipulate the flow of the blockers counter

Weaknesses
  • He lacks the high motor and tends to give up on plays outside of his gap integrity.
  • He will struggle at times with bigger linemen disengaging from blocks.
  • He demonstrates some stiffness in his torso and lacks the flexibility to be outside the B-gaps.
  • He struggles to recognize double-team blocks or switches of blocking assignments.
  • He needs to get stronger in his trunk; double-team blocks bury him right out of the play.
  • He struggled to get sacks and will need to improve his pass-rushing skills.
  • At the 5-tech, he does not get a great bend, which allows the blockers to control his path.

  • He is a weapon out of the backfield; he has excellent soft hands to catch the ball all over the field.
  • He runs fluid routes, can line up out wide, and gets open in the passing tree.
  • He is a mismatch problem; he will defeat most linebackers one-on-one and beat them deep on vertical plays.

Weaknesses
  • He does not break tackles and will go down after the first contact.
  • He is not very physical and does not run angry when he needs to be angry.
  • He has an upside-run style that allows immediate targets by the defender.
  • He will avoid most contact and will run out of bounds.
  • Durability question, can he hold on to the ball after minimum carries.

  • He will play tough against the run as he penetrates through the run gaps to blow up plays.
  • He has excellent recognition and vision; he will identify the run from the pass and can disrupt with pressure.

Weaknesses:
  • He will tend to rely on his speed to power to dominate his blocker and get above his pad level and forget his punch.
  • He has no counter moves once getting stalled by a more effective blocker.
  • He will need to find better pass rushing moves for the next level
  • He does have a great bend from the EDGE and lacks the flexibility in his hips to establish the bend.

  • He increased his stock at the 2022 NFL Combine with his 40-yard time and jumps.
  • His speed, power, movement skills, and versatility tested off the chart, as he demonstrated how he would be a speedy defender at the next level.
  • He can plug in at the strong or free safety positions with his skill set and versatility.
  • He is an excellent tackler who can perform in the box as the eighth man and can come and lay the wood.
  • He is dependable in the defensive backfield in man coverages, can cover the tight end positions, play outside on the bigger receivers, and even had success in the slot.
  • He is incredibly unbelievable in zone coverages as he can track the ball and make plays on the ball in the air.

Weaknesses
  • He struggled to disengage off blocks outside the tackles and allowed big runs without containment.

  • He gambles on his athletic ability one time too many and often gets out of position.
  • His aggressiveness will force him to miss tackles or be early on coverages prompting penalties.
