Player Bio: Amare' Barno prepped at Westwood High School located in Blythewood, SC.  At Westwood High,  he played safety and tallied 66 tackles (41 solos), eight tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles during his senior. Barno did not qualify to play Division 1A football because of academics and registered at Butler Community located in El Dorado, KS. The coaching staff moved Barno to linebacker, where he reeled in 66 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks his sophomore year. Barno finished his Butler Community College career registering 91 total tackles (52 solos), 5.5 sacks, two interceptions, and three forced fumbles.​

Strengths

• He is a speedy EDGE that can be freakish from outside.
• He has a nice frame with adequate length and long arms.
• He is very athletic and versatile to use his length with excellent strength; he uses leverage at the point of attack. 
• He is very explosive off the edge with crazy speed
• He recognizes plays well with great vision and will keep his eyes on the backfield while rushing.
• He is a hunter with excellent closing speed to chase down his prey with sideline-to-sideline speed.
• A former safety has quick hands that are aggressive to bat down passes and has coverage kills.
  
• Ran fastest 40 at the NFL Combine for defensive linemen, turned a few heads to increase his stock.

Weaknesses 

• He will need to add more muscle mass to his frame. 
• He is undersized, as more significant and vital linemen will blow him out of the play.
• He needs to work on pass-rushing moves; he struggles to disengage off blocks.
• He needs to learn to use his long arms to his advantage to shed blocks.
