GAME FILM
#32 Brian Cole II VS KANSAS ST (2019)

Strengths: He has excellent height and size for an NFL safety. He has excellent ability coming downhill to the ball in a hurry to explode to the offensive backfield. He will take on and shield off the blocker to chase down the play out on the perimeter. His coverage skills are not perfect, but he can line-up in a variety of coverages due to is versatility. He can play both safeties spot, down in the box, and as a nickel/slot corner. He has excellent skills in closing to the ball on slants and quick out routes.

Weaknesses: He does not possess fluid hips, they are tight, and film provides he can get turned around in man coverages. He is susceptible to double moved routes, and he has averaged instincts. One-on-one coverage with a speedy receiver downfield makes him unreliable beyond 20-yards. Lined up as a box safety, he frequently over pursuit on the play. He is not very active on contested balls and has limited ball skills. Still learning play on the defensive side of the ball, which will make him a two-year project at least.

Draft Grade: 5.60

Draft Projection:  6th - 7th round

NFL Comparison: Barry Church
