Player Bio: David Woodward attended Olympia High School, Olympia, CA. In his senior year, he rushed for 727 yards, caught 31 passes for 484 yards and completed 10-of-15 passes for 221 yards. On defense, he recorded a team-high 71 tackles and four interceptions playing defensive back. He was named the All-Area Football Player of the Year, Male Athlete of the Year by The Olympian, Washington Class 4A Narrows District Offensive Player of the Year, and all-league first-team honors. He also played basketball and track & field in high school.

Strengths: He can continue and be the first one to fly to the ball.  One thing that sticks out on tape right away his that he is tackling machine. He wraps up the runner and immediately put them on the ground. He processes the plays and seldom confuses play action at the net point. He has reasonable body control and patience that shown his mental side. He will lay wood when he can lay it on the ball carrier. He works ok in pass coverage and has a good awareness of where to be before the ball is thrown. He best suited to play in a zone defense.

Weaknesses: Despite being a sure tackler, he does miss tackles when he flies low to the ball carrier. He does lack the length and is a boundary where he utilizes himself in space. He is not very fluid and shows tightness in the hips. He struggles with his hand placement and keeping them moving to fight off blockers. He needs to build more strength to disengage from blockers in tight space.
