Player Bio: Jon Runyan Jr. prepped at St Joseph Prep in Philadelphia, PA. He earned All-State First-Team selection his senior year at St Joseph Pred and was a three-star prospect coming out of high school. He was ranked 15th in the state of Pennsylvania and 45th nationally as an offensive lineman. He is the son of the Republican House of Representatives Jon Runyan Sr (N.J.), who also a Michigan alumn and a former NFL lineman.​

Strengths: He is an NFL offensive lineman pedigree, as his father played for the University of Michigan, and several NFL Teams. He has an excellent build for an NFL offensive linemen with a husky frame. He has excellent nastiness to his game, will continue to block until the end of the play. In the run game, he is a potent blocker who clears out space at his first level point-of-attack. He ascends to the second level and squares up with the linebackers or safeties that come down for in run support. He is an excellent cerebral player with a high football intellect who will identify rush, blitz, and stunts. As a pass protector, he maintains a good square base, good anchor, and overpower rushers who continue to climb upfield to win the edge. ​

Weaknesses: He does move laterally well and strives to change direction. He is susceptible to fakes and allow the defender to fake outside and abandoned his inside positioning. He is a better fit to play the inside interior position as oppose to the tackle position at the next level because of some clumpiness. He tends to get too upright and reveals his torso area allowing the defender to get to the pass pocket. He will have problems with bull rusher if he can't his pad level lower, resulting in out leveraged.​
