Player Bio: KJ Hamler graduated from IMG Academy Academy in Bradenton, FL. However, IMG Academy won the National Championship after a perfect 12-0 record. Prior to IMG Academy, he played at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s in Orchard Lake, MI. Hamler suffered a season ending injury before the season start. He helped Orchard Lake St Mary High win two Division 3 State Championship, Catholic Prep Bowl title, and regional championships. Hamler also excelled in track in field in his sophomore and junior years and earned the teams MVP.​

​#1 KJ Hamler vs MICHIGAN (2019)

Strengths: He is a dynamic playmaker that has the exceptionally big play capabilities. He has the ability to take the top off the defense as a vertical threat. He has a tremendous jump off the snap that eats up the defender's cushion and can stop and start without losing a beat. He route running is crisp, he can run the straight line and break down at top space with head and body fakes to create seperation. On the deep ball, his speed allows him to run underneath just about any ball with excellent tracking skils. Dangerous as a slot receiver catching screens and jet sweeps and very elusive in the open field. He has rather large hands for receiver of his size, who catches just everything by hand with a strong grip strength. Flourished as a return specialist who can bust any of the two for the distance. 

Weaknesses: He is a that is small in statue and light-weight who frame will hold up during a full season of contact. Drop passes are of a concern, usually the easiest ones despite making the difficult catches.  He allows too many balls to be caught up against the body in a defense mode of protection. Will struggle with press coverage due to size and limited style in college. Will struggle down field as a blocker because of size.
