#3 AMARI RODGERS vs. VIRGINIA (2020)

#3 Amari Rodgers HIGHLIGHTS

Strengths: He is a very physical, dynamic, shifty, and quick receiver who will be a true slot-receiver at the next level. He has the body of a running back, which explains his physical power with the ball. His speed and quickness to attack defenses are incredible how he can threaten the field vertically and set up the defenders with deep outs, slants, screens, and comeback routes. He has an excellent vision that allows him to read the defenses, and the cerebral thought process allows him to sit down or find open spaces in the defenses. He has strong and reliable hands that pluck the ball out air and protect it after the catch. After catching the ball, his dynamic skills take place with great decisiveness, great vision, and he uses his body well in shielding off the defender. He can make the defender miss and will look for the home run after every catch. He is a tremendous returner that is exciting with ability to take every punt the distance.

Weaknesses: He faced limited press coverage in college, will be a challenge to watch if his quick feet will transition to the next level to create separation. Vertical routes will not be available by the top marquee defensive backs, and work on his underneath game to set up the big vertical routes. He has a pattern of dropping the big pass in about every game he has played in but bounces back. He will need to work on his blocking technique; his shorter size limits his ability to withstand blocks for an extended time.

Draft Projection:  3rd Round

NFL Comparison: Antonio Brown ( Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
