Player Bio: Tyree Gillepsie attended Vanguard High School in Ocala, FL. At Vanguard High, in his senior season, he excelled on both sides of the ball. He played both running back and defensive back. At safety, he collected 40 tackles, two interceptions (one interception for a touchdown), and on offense, he ran the ball 39 times for 562 yards and seven touchdowns. He fielded offers from Mizzou over Florida, Tennessee, Florida Atlantic, Iowa State, Troy, and New Mexico before committing and signing with Mizzou.

Strengths: He is a versatile, physical, and fearless safety with extreme athleticism with speed and plays all over the defensive backfield. He played in two-deep and single high safety; man coverage can play in the slot and cover tight ends and backs. Against the run, he will fly downhill with good angles to the ball, excellent form tackling, and wrapping up at all times. He will isolate himself from getting washed up by blockers and able to disengage from blocks. In the secondary, he uses his excellent speed to fly across the field. He has extreme hitting power, who will let the receiver know that he will separate the ball from their frame on legalized hits. On his pro day, he tested well with a sub 4.40 forty time of 4.38 and shuttle time of 4.39.
 
Weaknesses: He has anticipations problems when recognizing the concepts of offensives and when placed in high-risk situations. He cannot allow the QB's to betray them with their eyes and move him away from the deep zone. He allows many catches in front of him and does not challenge. As a single high safety, he can manipulate by rotating out of position. He needs to add weight without losing his speed and losing his flexibility to continue his athleticism. Despite being a good tackler, he does tend to leave his feet early.
