#4 calvin Austin III vs mississippi (2021)

#4 calvin austin iii 2021 highlights

Strengths
  • He is exceptionally talented with excellent versatility.
  • He possesses excellent soft hands.
  • He is swift, fast, and takes the lid off the defense in a hurry
  • He is a severe vertical threat and can explode with a tremendous second gear from quick passes.
  • He has a quick first step that will go from first to fifth at a moment's notice, with quick acceleration to separate himself from the defender.
  • He will be a true slot receiver at the next level that will run the ball off screens, jet sweeps, and tosses and outrun the defender to the edge.
  • He has excellent skills, and where he can make a defender miss in the open field to take it the distance or for extended explosive plays.
  • He is a good route-runner who can get in and out of his cuts and breaks and explode back to the ball.
  • He tracks the ball well down the field.

Weaknesses
  • He is a very lean frame, short, and lightweight receiver that makes him undersized at the next level.
  • He needs to get stronger, not rely on speed to get upfield on press coverages; physical defensive backs will easily outmuscle him and knock him off course.
  • He has short arms that offer anything of a catch radius for the quarterback.
  • He will submit no help as a blocker
  • He takes a lot risk as a returner fielding the ball in dangerous areas and rarely call for fait catch.

Draft Projection: 2nd - 3rd Round

NFL Comparison: Jakeem Grant (Chicago Bears)
