He garnered the Franklin D. Watkins Memorial Trophy Award, given to the country's top African-American high school football player, MaxPreps All-American First-Team, and the Tampa Bay Times HomeTeam 100. Petite-Frere won the lineman strength competition at the Under Armour All-American game. He received an invite to participate in the Under Armour All-America Game. He also played basketball for Berkeley Prep.
