Player Bio: Mack entered the big college spotlight as a five-star recruit and a USA Today First Team All-American from east Texas. His first season with the Aggies as a true freshman, he played a vital role as a reserve, playing 13 games, good for 32 tackles (9.5 for loss) and one fumble. By year two, expectations were high but stats dropped; in 13 games, Mack racked up just 25 tackles with just 2.5 for a loss but added 1.5 sacks. Season three with Texas A&M was the first start for Mack, although he dropped even more in performance, having just 19 tackles (5 for loss), one fumble and one sack. His senior season was a make or break for Mack's future in the NFL. With new Head Coach Jimbo Fisher in line, Daylon started all 13 games where he thrived putting out his best season of his career. Saving the best season of his college career, put up 32 tackles (10 for loss), 5.5 sacks and also blocking a kick.

Game Film
#34 Daylon Mack vs. Ole’ Miss (2018)

Strengths:
-Really quick and well timed first step that helps him get to the second level and disrupt offensive lines.

-Labeled as undersized but that helps lower his center of gravity that helps him anchor on to the ground.
-Can improve from his mistakes.
-Balance
-Thick and wide body, prototypical nose tackle and run stopper.
-Does well vs double teams.
-Hard to move because of anchor and weight.
-Excels in bull rush and rip moves.

Weaknesses:
-Lack of pass-rush moves and technique.
-Usually uses both hands on the blocker, which ends on not having one available to stop the runner.
-Lack of bend and lateral moves.
-Three underwhelming college seasons.

-Not lengthy enough to grab players running away from him.
-Only one year as a full time starter.

Draft Grade: 5.40

Draft Projection:  3rd - 4th Round

Does He Fit?: YES - Coming out of high school he was a highly touted talent for some reason. It might have been a bad fit in the former Aggies system, but succeeded under a new regime with HC Jimbo Fisher taking the team in a different direction. He showed he could get better with the right coach. The hole that Suh left down the middle of the D-Line can be well suited for him, and Mack could benefit from playing alongside Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers. Donald's and Daylon's fast and quick first step could have opponents defensive lines in every game, and he could learn some moves from the best defensive player in the league, given they have a similar height and first step speed.
